Program Fees for SWAP (Guanacaste) 2020


The program fee for SWAP Costa Rica (Guanacaste) 2020 is $1,380.  These fees include the following:


  • Service learning project search, match, and assignment
  • Accommodation with local host family
  • Daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner at homestay placement
  • Transportation to and from airport
  • Excursions
  • Orientation upon arrival
  • Local field supervisor/interpreter at field sites
  • In-country support from US-based social work professionals
  • Pre-departure orientation and logistics support
  • Administration fees ($500 tax deductible donation)​


Program fees do not cover the following:


  • Airfare
  • Travel insurance
  • Gratuity to Viva Nicaragua drivers, translators, and guides
  • Excursions or meals taken outside of the program itinerary


The program fee must be submitted to SWAP by check or cash by October 31, 2019 (Make checks payable to Social Work Abroad Program).  Fees may be submitted in person at the orientation in October or checks can be mailed to:
